Romans 8 Church began as Romans VIII Evangelistic Association in 1972, when God called Owen and Irene Cain to teach the Word of God in Bible study groups meeting in their home in Joshua, TX. When the groups became too large for a living room, an office space in Cleburne, TX was acquired, and additional ministries were conducted in other surrounding towns. In 1977, a group of residents of Fort Worth, TX asked the Cains to conduct regular Sunday services at the Southwest YMCA.
Also that year, the Cains began a live TV broadcast on KXTX-Channel 39 in Dallas which aired from 1:00-3:00AM (called, appropriately, "The One-to-Three Answer"); it was the only program on the air at that hour and continued until 1981. In addition to the demand for regular weekly services at different locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, Owen & Irene Cain traveled to other cities and states holding spiritual life seminars while Assistant Pastor Ray Andrews conducted services in Fort Worth.
Then, in 1985, Romans 8 purchased land in East Fort Worth with funds from accumulated freewill donations and the current Ministry Center facility at 201 Sandy Lane was built, where services have been held continuously since its completion in 1986. With the addition of a fellowship hall in 1991, the Romans 8 Church was fully equipped to meet the needs of their congregation.
Since Pastor Cain's retirement in 2008, Ray Andrews has assumed the pastoral duties, and the church continues to carry out its mission to offer the message of spiritual maturity under the anointing of the Holy Spirit to all those with ears to hear.
Romans 8 Church has maintained ties with missionaries in Indonesia, working with Wycliffe Bible Translators, and the church handles local charitable benevolences in cooperation with Mission Arlington/Mission Metroplex.
